As medicine continues to evolve with the rapid expansion of medical tools and data, personalized healthcare through a concierge medicine model will be essential to ensuring optimal outcomes for patients in the future.
Dr. Harper has been practicing in the Piedmont healthcare system since 1996, highly respected for his clinical skills and decades of experience treating patients with evidence-based medicine. A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, he completed his internship and residency at Emory University-affiliated hospitals.
As part of the Piedmont healthcare system for many years, he has collaborated successfully with clinicians and key team members to improve patient outcomes and care. Dr. Harper has also long worked in governance in the Piedmont system, initially as an executive committee member of the Piedmont Physicians Group from 2001 until 2012, and then as Medical Director of the group in charge of peer review for the organization. He is a past member of the Piedmont Clinic Board, and served as voting representative for over 15 years. In addition to his regular clinical duties, Dr Harper volunteered monthly from 1996 to 2011 at the Grant Park Family Health Center to care for the community’s underserved populations.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Harper has become increasingly interested in new screenings, diagnostic tools and other strategies to prevent the growing incidence of chronic illnesses. He has a particular passion for offering individualized, proactive treatment for diabetes, hypertension and prevention of heart disease in his concierge practice.
In his spare time Dr Harper is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and backpacking, running, pickleball and fitness in general. He loves traveling with his family and friends.
