Elizabeth Hawk, MD
Concierge Physician
In a rapidly changing, complex, and multifaceted healthcare environment, a trusted physician-patient relationship provides the foundation for a patient’s health and wellness pursuits. Patients do not just deserve a better relationship with their doctor, they need it.
Dr. Hawk is a native of Athens, Georgia. She attended Davidson College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and graduating with magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa distinctions. She conducted research at the National Institutes of Health during her time as an undergraduate. Dr. Hawk then went on to The Medical College of Georgia and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the highest medical honors society.
Dr. Hawk is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over 20 years of clinical practice experience. She strives to provide excellent medical care to her patients in a compassionate environment. Dr. Hawk has always taken a holistic approach to patients, believing if she learns about who a patient is as a person, it provides a more complete picture of health. The slower pace of a concierge practice only enhances this holistic approach. Her clinical interests include innovative and preventive strategies related to cardiovascular, metabolic, and hormonal health. Even with a firm commitment to preventive medicine, medical issues do arise. Dr. Hawk empowers, educates, and supports her patients in any health challenges they may encounter.
Dr. Hawk was an executive committee member of the Piedmont Physicians group in the first year of practice. She is a founding partner of Piedmont Internal Medicine in 2015 and has consistently served on the group’s executive committee since its beginning. In addition, Dr. Hawk is currently a voting board member of Piedmont Hospital’s accountable care organization. Dr. Hawk has been a recipient of Atlanta Magazine’s peer-selected Castle Connolly Top Doctor award in Internal Medicine as well as to the elite group of Exceptional Women in Medicine for the past several years.
Dr. Hawk resides in Atlanta with her husband Tom and two high school daughters Chambless and Margaret. Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys travel, all types of fitness, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and entertaining friends and family in her home.
