W. Cody McClatchey, MD, FACP
Concierge Physician
My vision for healthcare that is proactive, not just reactive, can best be achieved in a concierge practice, where adequate time can be spent with patients at all levels of care, throughout their lives.
Dr. McClatchey is a native of Atlanta with a long and distinguished pedigree in medicine as the son, cousin, great-nephew and great-grandson of physicians. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, earned his medical degree from Emory University and completed his residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest University.
Dr. McClatchey has practiced internal medicine in Atlanta in the Piedmont Clinic since 2000. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. McClatchey was voted by peers as one of 25 internists recognized by Atlanta Magazine Top Doctors 2024.
Dr. McClatchey believes health care should be proactive, not just reactive, and provides extensive guidance to his patients on preventing illness and disease. He believes that care is best managed in collaboration with patients and by an internist, who is highly trained and qualified to diagnose and coordinate care for adults. His decisions are based on peer-reviewed clinical or scientific studies to the greatest extent possible, as well as his decades of clinical experience and consultations with sub-specialists and allied health professionals when appropriate.
Dr. McClatchey considers his volunteer work in health care advocacy and leadership in organized medicine essential to improving health care. These efforts included service on the boards of Piedmont Clinic, Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, Georgia Chapter of the ACP, the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG), and the Medical Association of Atlanta (MAA). A founding member of the Piedmont Clinic Primary Care Clinical Governance Council in 2019, he currently serves as chair of the Diabetes Taskforce, where he has spearheaded successful initiatives to enhance the quality and reduce the cost of diabetes care in Piedmont’s network throughout Georgia. As current president of the MAA in 2024-2025, he will work to further its aims of improving both the quality of care for all Georgians and the practice environment for physicians.
Dr. McClatchey enjoys spending time with family, friends and faith community.
